Shoppers flocked to gun stores on Black Friday, drawn not by politics, but by the lure of deep discounts.

According to CNN, hundreds of shoppers packed into RTSP, a gun shop and firing range in Randolph, N.J., that offered 5-10 percent discounts on guns, ammunition and accessories.

Store co-owner Rick Friedman said he had stocked eight to 12 months' worth of guns and ammo, anticipating a demand if Hillary Clinton won the election – and figured he would take longer to sell off inventory after America voted to put NRA-endorsed Donald Trump in the White House.

"We were gearing up for a much different result," he said. "[But] if you're in this industry you're obviously very happy about the result."

Ryan Reyes, manager of LI Outdoorsman, a gun store in Rockville Centre on Long Island, N.Y., said discounts of 10-50 percent were a huge draw.

"It's just crazy in here with all the discounts," he said. "We've been getting calls all week about the discounts, and it was a slow week."

In Jacksonville, Fla., gun store Shooters had lines wrapped around the store, an NBC affiliate reported, while shoppers at other local stores took advantage of discounts up to 75 percent.

FBI data released after Black Friday in 2015 showed more Americans had their backgrounds checked purchasing guns that day than any day on record, USA Today reported at the time.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on Nov. 27, 2015.
