The events over this past Labor Day weekend should be alarming! I believe that Americans will be the first to die before this is all over. Since North Korea tested its first hydrogen bomb, it was so powerful that it created an earthquake of about 6.3 on the Richter scale. Just about a month ago, President Trump warned Kim if he continued that “Fire and Fury” would reign down upon him.
After about a month of no comments from North Korea with Kim Jong-un being quiet, our Secretary of State suggested they might be ready to come to the bargaining table. I warned in a previous commentary that I didn’t think Kim would give in so easily. RINO Republicans and Democrats have fallen into the Neville Chamberlain syndrome. Before Britain entered WWII, Chamberlain believed that appeasement was the best way to deal with Nazi aggression. Now, these American appeasers have not given value to the possibility that Kim will attack first and Americans will die. The appeasers believe that the only solution is through negotiations. They don’t seem to understand that Kim thinks he has America in a quandary: America doesn’t shoot first and then ask questions.
Look back at our history before both the First and Second World Wars. We were neutral and only came into a war after being attacked. We are not a warring nation, but when we are attacked, we respond with force. The RINOs and the Democrats, while not saying it openly, believe we have to have Americans die first before we use our military.
North Korea came to the bargaining table in 1994 with Bill Clinton as president and Kim’s father, Kim Jong-il leading North Korea. Enter Jimmy Carter: The former president, representing the Clinton administration, went to Pyongyang and negotiated an appeasement deal that gave North Korea two new nuclear reactors and $5 billion in aid among other things, in return for a promise to give up their nuclear weapons research. Afterwards, President Clinton told the country that “North Korea Would Dismantle Its Nuclear Program.” Clinton embraced this appeasement deal and told the country we now have “an end to the threat of nuclear proliferation on the Korean Peninsula” — with compliance verified by international inspectors. In 2002 Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize.
However, in 2002, the North Koreans admitted they’d begun violating the accord on Day One. Four years later, Pyongyang detonated its first nuke, and the appeasement-driven Democrats were shocked at the actions of North Korea, but had no suggestions or apologies for their failure. So here we are again: the North Koreans have a cache of nuclear weapons and an attitude that they control the world. The fact that they continue to ignore any wishes of the Chinese government should be disturbing in itself to the entire world. If we take the suggestions of the RINOs and Democrats, we should try and bargain with Kim. My question is what are we going to bargain?
We can talk about lifting sanctions if they agree to dismantle their nuclear weapons. It didn’t work with Clinton when they didn’t have bombs; why would it work now when they reportedly have a significant inventory of nuclear weapons?
I go back to my suggestion of some time ago that the U.S., with others, impose an embargo and shut down all five of the North Korean ports. Shipping could not go in or out of these ports. Now, I want to add over flights of B-2 bombers. I chose the B-2 because of its redirecting capabilities. It can launch missiles at a target and while they are in flight, the aircraft can change the target for the missile. So if a B-2 sees another missile launch, it can lock in on the site of the launch and destroy the launching pad and missile control. We can use other missile defense programs to try and shoot down the incoming missile. North Korea is no longer a signatory to the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and as such, is not subject to any fines or penalties. However, it does conduct its tests underground, thereby restricting the possibility of radiation fallout.
North Korea will know that every time they fire a missile that more and more of their country will be destroyed. We have no certainty that we can shoot down all the incoming missiles, but we will know that we will have destroyed Kim's capabilities and perhaps even Kim himself. As difficult as it is for me to say, I do not believe America will fire a nuclear weapon first; it is not in our nature as a nation. But I have no doubt if Kim fires one first, North Korea will no longer exist as a nation.
So as the headline suggests, I think before this is over, Americans will die and our RINO and appeasers policy is to blame. The final question is, will the appeasers say, “I’m sorry”?
