Talk about back stabbing!
It looks like Barack Obama is going to give a pre-Thanksgiving gift — some would say “knife in the back” — to black America: virtual amnesty for nearly 5 million illegal aliens.
Those getting amnesty will be happy. Blacks should not be.
Nationally, black unemployment is 11 percent and for those 16-24, it exceeds 21 percent. If this were not bad enough, in the president’s home town of Chicago, the Chicago Urban reported last January that an alarming 92 percent of black male teenagers didn’t have a job.
You would think that Obama would be moving heaven and earth during the last two years of his term to develop a “10-part jobs plan” to bring those numbers down for his most loyal constituency.
No!
His payback for their support is an expected “10-part immigration plan” giving virtual amnesty to millions of illegals — at their expense.
Preliminary reports say that key parts of the plan include protecting up to 5 million illegals from deportation, providing many with work permits, allowing many parents of children who are American citizens of legal residents to obtain legal work documents and expanding opportunities for legal immigrants who have high-tech skills.
“Work permits.” “Work documents.” “High-tech skills.” Such opportunities for employment must sound good to unemployed Americans.
How about working to expand opportunities and training for the 11 percent of unemployed black adults and 22 percent black youth so they can get those “high tech skills,” Mr. President?
If blacks were disappointed over Obama and the Democrats ignoring their problems and catering to the demands of every other group before the midterm elections, they should really feel like abandoned stepchildren after this program is officially announced.
Just think, even illegal aliens are moved ahead of blacks to the front of Obama’s bus.
If Obamacare consultant Jonathan Gruber thinks American voters are stupid, just imagine what he and the liberal Democratic elites think of their most loyal supporters who give all to the party and demand nothing in return. Their reward: amnesty for illegals.
While black Americans’ ancestors came to this country in chains and shed blood and suffered vicious racism and discrimination for centuries in the fight for the rights of citizenship, Obama is giving those who came here illegally the same benefits with a swipe of a pen.
I guess you could call it “Obama’s Emancipation Proclamation for illegal aliens.”
While thousands of black men and women languish in jails and prisons for various drug and other non-violent offenses, how many illegals who have committed more serious crimes will get an Obama “no deportation pass?”
If you think the unemployment status of blacks is bad now, just wait until “Obama’s millions” get legal status. Thousands more will pour across the border to “Obama’s promise land” to crowd the low-skilled job market and compete for job and educational opportunities as well as healthcare and social services benefits.
The question is: Who will speak up for black Americans?
Dedrick Asante-Muhammad, senior director of NAACP's economic department, said the unemployment rate among minorities must be addressed:
“The 2-to-1 employment disparity between African Americans and whites is not closing and appears to be a permanent part of the economy . . . This disparity, as well as the disparity found in Latino unemployment, must be addressed.”
Well said!
But, don’t think for a moment that his bosses at the NAACP will dare say or do anything that criticizes Barack Obama’s bringing in 5 million people to compete with black and Hispanic Americans who are direly in need of jobs.
The NAACP has become front-row cheerleaders in Obama’s and the Democratic Party’s “Amen Corner.” It will rubber stamp anything he does or says — regardless of its impact on black Americans in whose best interests the NAACP is supposed to act.
What about the Congressional Black Caucus?
Same thing — totally in the bag for Obama with most dancing to whatever tune he , the Democratic Party, Harry Reid, or Nancy Pelosi play — amnesty included.
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Don’t even ask!
The real irony is that the it will be a Republican Congress that offers any hope to black Americans that Obama’s rush to add up to 5 million competitors for their jobs and educational opportunities may be stalled.
And that includes the three newly elected black Republican members of the Senate and House — the three people that the NAACP and the Democratic liberal establishment love to hate: U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, Congressman-elect Will Hurd of Texas, and Congresswoman-elect Mia Love of Utah.
How sweet it is!
