President Donald Trump returned to the White House after being hospitalized for the coronavirus, much to the likely chagrin of the bulk of the Trump-hating mainstream media and Vice President Joe Biden’s supporters.

If you don’t think that the president's political and mainstream media enemies weren't salivating over his getting the virus — implying that he brought it on himself, — you're living in a dream world and wearing rose-colored glasses!

I wouldn't doubt for a moment that they're hoping for a relapse.

Did CNN's Chris Cuomo, Democratic Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, or the thousands who have the virus bring it on themselves?

Sadly and quite tellingly, it’s not only Democrats and much of the mainstream media who wish the president ill will.

Months before he was diagnosed, there were those in his own party who turned against  him, announcing their support for Joe Biden.

A good example is the anti-Trump group Defending Democracy Together (DDT), whose leadership includes many well-known conservatives and Republicans, including William Kristol, Mona Charen, Linda Chavez, and former New Jersey Governor Christie Todd Whitman.

Whitman also chairs the anti-Trump group, Republicans and Independents For Biden.

DDT’s Projects include Republican Voters Against Trump, Republicans for the Rule of Law, and Former Republican National Security Officials for Biden.

The National Security Project issued a statement on Aug. 20, 2020, signed by 70 of what could be described as a "Deep State Who's Who" of former Senior Republican officials.

Te statement declared that it was in the "best interest" of the country that Biden be elected president.

The group included former Secretary of Defense and U.S. Senator from Nebraska Chuck Hagel, former U.S. Senators Larry Pressler of South Dakota and John Warner of Virginia, former CIA and FBI Director William Webster, Former U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Carla Hills, and scores of other persons from the military, diplomatic, and national security communities.

The problem with the "statement" is that it sounds like the Biden campaign could have written it with assistance from its friends and collaborators in the mainstream media.

It elaborates that the president "reportedly" called members of the military "losers" and "suckers;" that he admitted that he "deliberately" minimized the coronavirus threat; and that he was "refusing" to commit to a "peaceful transfer of power" if he lost the election.

My question for Deep State Republicans is: How do you go from supporting a candidate and a party — Donald Trump and Republicans — who stand for the sanctity of life for the unborn, school choice, opposition to open borders, and illegal immigration — to supporting a candidate and a party — Joe Biden and the Democrats — who stand for just the opposite: partial-birth abortions, opposition to school choice, and open borders?

When it comes to the problems, needs, and issues facing many Black and Hispanic Americans, their Deep State heads are in the sand.

They obviously don't care that a Biden administration would:

—"Pack" the Supreme Court and ban school choice programs allowing low-income parents to use taxpayer-funded vouchers to send their children to schools of their choice which the president they oppose strongly supports.

—Swim in the dark depths of late-term abortions and even infanticide, which the president they oppose has consistently opposed.

—Support open borders and sanctuary cities, while the president they oppose believes that illegal immigration hurts lower-skilled and unskilled workers.

Regardless of their credentials, in terms of this election and the issues highlighted above, as far as I am concerned, they are Republicans and conservatives in name only!
