“I consider trial by jury as the only anchor ever yet imagined by man, by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution.” - President Thomas Jefferson
Lawfare rages in our nation and has done so unabated for several years now.
This should highly disturb us, but does it really?
After all life goes on, doesn't it?
Or . . . Will it really for you and me, once the societal ramifications of this sick "benevolent" crusade take hold?
On center stage: the unconstitutional clown show (if we give it a name) "Operation Get Trump," rages on.
This massive legal maneuver, rooted in sheer, unbridled retribution, one quite unencumbered, features never ending court battle after court battle, focuses on first smearing, then bloodying, our nation's 45th president. A man who never accepted one penny, much less one nickel or dime of taxpayer-funded salary.
The theater of setting precedents is filled with "interesting" officers of the court.
We can already see it is now acceptable to use the whole of government to defeat your political opposition in America.
Yet, Jake Sullivan tells us from Kiev that we must get money to Ukraine to "save democracy."
Under the watchful tutelage of Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y., N.Y. State Atty. Gen. Letitia James runs the Northeast Chapter of "Operation Get Trump."
Thanks to the ever and overly helpful Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron, Trump's defenses are limited. And those pesky things of democracy, known as juries, are kept out of this vengeful "legal" mix.
Former President Donald John Trump now faces a judgment (and all its accompanying weaponry) of over $450 million, not including interest penalties — for a victimless crime based on a law put on the books in New York City, for just such a purpose.
Reactions were quite predictable.
The uniparty swamp creatures looked away as President Trump’s "America First" base was incensed.
The mainstream media put their blessings on James’ crusade, Hochul assured New York that it was still safe to do real estate business in the Empire State.
Few believe her.
Renowned investors Kevin O’Leary and Grant Cardone were the first to announce they are giving up on the Big Apple and the rest of the state.
As the Trump team scrambles to raise liquidity to at least make the bond payment, just days away, the system will not allow any appeal of the judgement until he pays.
Since when does the Constitution say that your right to appeal hinges upon your right to pay?
At risk?
His entire New York real estate portfolio and corporation; oh, and also the viability of our Constitutional republic . . . that’s all.
It’s all about the precedent, not the president.
AG James is vowing to seize the Trump New York portfolio if he does not pay in advance of any appeal. If you succeed, here is what you will have achieved counselor:
- Banks holding the bag for the seizures and all the linked debt
- Construction industry in freefall as liquidity dries up
- Insurance bankruptcies as claims soar and risk premiums cannot be priced
- Soaring job losses across the city as businesses shudder from the failures
- New York City government eventually bankrupt as the tax base crashes (how about those unfunded newcomers?)
Billions in damages with a nearly irreversible downward spiral.
If they can steal from a former U.S. president, they can steal from you and me.
Such a precedent, if allowed to stand, would find its way into courtrooms nationally.
Want to support a conservative candidate who supports our Constitution?
Then get ready to have your business transactions scrutinized, pay thousands in legal fees, and possibly lose all that you own.
Meanwhile at the lowest levels, the woke judicial warriors allow violent felons off the hook, illegals to obtain weapons (but no Second Amendment for you), and censorship of We the People.
Yes, the Trump war battles on, and our nation's 45th president fights on with minimal help.
The GOP side of the uniparty could care less about the Constitution-destroying precedents this lawfare is setting and ultimately yielding.
They are welded to defense of the swamp and the defeat of their presumptive nominee for president.
Make no mistake – Washington’s silence speaks volumes.
Republicans who claim to be traditional conservatives need to standup and show us that they have a spine.
The prosecutors and judges on the front lines of "Operation Get Trump" have coordinated marching orders from where: the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the White House?
If they win, it will be legal to use every ounce of government power to destroy political opposition and seize any person’s or corporation’s property where resistance is encountered.
Of course, politics won’t be the limits of these landmark cases.
We will live in an Amerika where you will remain compliant and muzzled. The haunting words of Klaus Schwab come to mind, "You’ll own nothing and be happy."
And if you still can’t be silenced, the state will sue you and take your stuff. Period.
No matter what political ideology you ascribe to, you should be very concerned as our Bill of Rights evolves from the law of the land to the superficially ornamental.
On this slippery slope they will eventually come for the woke, climate crisis, social justice warriors; it’s just a matter of time.
Real governors, the kind who lead their states and defend their citizens, should stand together now and establish a Constitutional sanctuary, where these Intolerable Acts will not be permitted.
Constitution flouting agencies should see their power paused in these states until such time that the federal government returns to complying with the Founder’s original grand bargain.
Maybe then, equal treatment under the law, will come back into fashion.
They may yet get President Trump, but the precedents set may get you and me.
