Hillary Clinton’s record on preventing and combating terrorism, as secretary of state, was incompetent and dangerous to our national interests and security — and that of our friends and allies.
Under her “leadership” the entire Middle East imploded into chaos and created the opportunity for terror groups to rise up and take wide swaths of countries as their own.
Don’t take my word for it. The Institute for Economics and Peace reported an 80 percent increase in the number of people killed in 2014 amounting to a total of 32,658 people killed in terror attacks across 67 countries.
This fact was corroborated by President Obama’s own Director of National Intelligence James Clapper who said, “When the final counting is done, 2014 will have been the most lethal year for global terrorism in the 45 years such data has been compiled.”
Here are just four examples of the failures of Hillary Clinton to combat terror:
1. Center for Strategic Counterrorism Communications. This initiative was a priority for Clinton to counter and monitor jihadists online. The Washington Post reported the Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications (CSCC) was “a priority for then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.” Yet new reports show that the program was a complete failure during her tenure. Experts called the CSCC’s efforts to counter ISIS online “embarrassing” and “helpful to the enemy.” And even the Obama White House has now admitted that Clinton’s “priority” program is something they might have to scale back. White House press secretary Josh Earnest called the mission of CSCC something that didn’t make “common sense."
2. Guantanamo. During her tenure as secretary of state, Clinton was a “strong advocate” of closing Guantanamo and transferring all its inmates to the U.S. mainland, just as we learn that another former Guantanamo prisoner Ibrahim al Qosi has returned to Sudan to fight for al-Qaida. We know as a matter of fact that hundreds of detainees that have been released from Guantanamo have not been rehabilitated they have been reinvigorated to rejoin the fight. We also know through polling that a majority of Americans are not in favor of closing Guantanamo and transferring these dangerous terrorists to America’s mainland.
3. Boko Haram. In 2011, the U.S. Department of Justice and members of Congress
lobbied Secretary Clinton to designate Boko Haram a terrorist organization. Despite their pleas, Secretary Clinton refused. Had Boko Haram been designated a Foreign Terror Organization, it would have given the U.S. government and our allies the ability to destroy it. Today, Boko Haram has pledged allegiance to ISIS and created yet another terror faction causing mayhem that is a direct threat to the U.S. and our friends and allies.
4. Social Media. Clinton’s State Department thought it was unnecessary to
scrutinize social media like: Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn when approving Visa applications. This makes no sense. All social media is within the public domain with no expectation of privacy. We now know that the woman who was involved in the most recent terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif. made clear her support for ISIS and Jihad on her Facebook page well before the attack.
Like Obama, Hillary Clinton does not deal with the world as it is. They see and deal with a world they wished it would be, and in the process have left a vacuum of leadership and resolve that has emboldened our enemies and weakened our allies, and us, here at home.
If you want to know what a President Clinton would be like — look no further than her record as secretary of state.
We have been warned.
