It is completely fortuitous that Mark Levin’s new book, "American Marxism" comes out at precisely the time Cuban freedom fighters are attempting to throw off the shackles of 60-year-old failed Marxism in their country. A laboratory of freedom is playing out right before our very eyes, just as Thomas Paine’s "Common Sense" was being widely read in America on the cusp of the American Revolution.

I only hope that Levin’s "American Marxism," which debuts this week, is printed in Spanish and widely distributed in that jail cell of an island.

One thing is for sure though, and that is idiots — not useful, frankly — like AOC and Bernie Sanders won’t be reading Levin’s new book as there is no evidence that they can neither read nor write a simple declarative sentence, much less recite the simple facts of history.

They don’t know John Locke from Sondra Locke.

Not surprisingly, they have said nothing about the pro-freedom uprising in Cuba because they oppose it. They are collectivists, just as is the brutal dictatorship in Havana.

The failure of Marxism in Cuba, Venezuela and other countries embarrasses them.

Mr. Levin says this, his ninth book, is his best one and it is certainly timely, just as the collectivists, anti-American minimalists, Joseph Biden and Nancy Pelosi try to extend Marxism over America. The irony is too obvious.

America, under Ronald Reagan, puts his cowboy boot heel on the neck of Soviet Communism, applied pressure, and snapped its neck, killing Soviet communism, freeing millions imprisoned behind an Iron Curtain.

Mark Levin and I were a part of that wondrous era of Reagan and his revolution. That’s where we first met as young Reaganites, he a top aide to the utterly charming and effective Ed Meese while I was with the election and reelection campaigns of Reagan’s and the White House Conference on Small Business.

Mr. Levin’s book, like all his works, captures the reader right from the beginning and does not stop:

''The counter revolution to the American Revolution is in full swing. And it can no longer be dismissed or ignored, for it is devouring our society and culture, swirling around our everyday lives, and ubiquitous in our politics, schools, media, and entertainment.''

In 2021, it is time to try men’s souls.

Time and time again, courageous writers have successfully and in a timely fashion warned us about the failures of collectivist rule, from Paine to Solzhenitsyn to Whittaker Chambers and William F. Buckley — and now Mark Levin.

A writer such as Levin strives for two things: to make the reader learn and to make the reader think. Levin succeeds wildly on both counts except he may be too polite.

Let’s admit it once and for all: liberals are unwise. I don’t mean in the book or classroom sense, but they keep trying to jam a failed ideology down our throats, using lies and prevarications and come cloaked as ''progressives, Democratic Socialists, social activists, community activists, etc.''

In identifying the threat, Mark nails it.

It’s always about ''justice.'' Environmental justice, sexual justice, voting justice, social justice, cartoon justice. Mark completely tears off the fake veneer of the left, exposing them like a naked Biden.

Pretty ugly, isn’t he?

To call Marxism a failure is redundant. Marxism, by its very nature means failure.

As Mark writes, ''Marxism does not tolerate the competition of ideas or political parties.''

True enough. American conservatism stands as an indictment of Marxism. Bernie Sanders, AOC and their ilk are too ''mentally irregular'' — in the immortal words of Rocky Balboa — to grasp the intellectualism of individual freedom.

But Marxism is not about economic success; it is about naked political power, plain and simple. We’ve all seen the abject failures of Marxism, from the Warsaw Pact countries to the cesspools our cities such as Boston and Washington have become.

The result? People fled East Germany and the Commies had to build a wall.

People are fleeing the garbage heaps of Portland and San Francisco now. Are walled cities not far behind?

Not exactly Reagan’s ''City on a Hill,'' are they?

The book is a political tour de force taking the reader on an in-depth survey of the great and not so great thinkers of society, from Rosseau to the longshoreman/philosopher Eric Hoffer to mental midgets in the liberal national media.

Levin’s book is perfect summer reading, especially for sunshine patriots who need to learn courage. Ultimately, this book is about courage, especially the courage to challenge one’s own ideas.

It’s about the courage of useful idiots to admit their mistakes after reading this book and truly become useful. It is about the courage to stand up to Marxist college professors.

"American Marxism" will be a bestseller — just as all of Levin’s books have been — even as the corrupt and failing Washington Post won’t review it, and The New York Times may put its thumb on the scale again to prevent its listing on their Bestsellers List. It also belongs on the syllabus of every political science department in America.

Alas, they are cowards, afraid of the truth. And that’s it, isn’t it? Our ideas are better than their ideas.

No matter. "American Marxism" will be a bestseller and maybe, just maybe, help a few freedom fighters in Cuba — and here on American soil.

Keep ‘em coming Mark!
