Ben Stein's DREEMZ By Tuesday, 13 October 2015 03:58 PM EDT Current | Bio | Archive

Mr. Obama is going wild about the shootings in Oregon, and he should. It should not be easy for people to get guns and crazy people should not get them at all. There are about 30,000 gun deaths per year in the U.S. More than two-thirds of those are suicides.

Almost all of the rest are caused by young urban youths killing each other. Usually, these poor souls are black or brown. Mr. Obama never talks about these people. If he does condemn the Crips and the Bloods, he does it very quietly. Why so soft Mr. President? The almost total lack of interest in gang crime by Mr. Obama is a mystery, so writes Ben Stein in The American Spectator.

Ben Stein is a writer, actor, and lawyer, who served as a speechwriter in the Nixon administration as the Watergate scandal unfolded. He began his unlikely road to stardom when director John Hughes cast him as the numbingly dull economics teacher in the urban comedy, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
