Forget the presidential debates. The real drama this fall will come when Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly square off.
The two TV personalities will meet in a 90-minute debate set for Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” will take place at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
Comedy Central’s Stewart and host O’Reilly, who have long had a love-hate relationship, plan to discuss the presidential election and the state of the union, among other things.
“I’m excited to debate Mr. O’Reilly,” Stewart said in a statement. “I believe this will be a very enjoyable night for fans of our programs, political junkies, partisans, and people who just enjoy yelling.”
“I had no idea my agent signed me up for this,” O’Reilly said. “How can I get out of it?”
CNN contributor E.D. Hill will moderate the debate.
Tickets for the event range from $7 to $100. It will also be live-streamed online for a $4.95 fee. Half the proceeds of the event will go to charity.
