If Maxwell Has Tapes, Who Should Be Scared?

The judge’s decision to deny bail to Ghislaine Maxwell raises the question of whether she has tapes of sexual activities that took place on Jeffrey Epstein’s homes and airplanes, and if she does whether she can use them as bargaining chips in her dealings with prosecutors. A related question is if such tapes exist — as some have alleged — who should be afraid?

Let me start with myself. I would be overjoyed if there were videos of every single sexual encounter that ever took place in Epstein venues. They would show me and my wife each having a single massage from a middle aged professional therapist (and yes, I was wearing my shorts!).

They would not show me doing anything inappropriate, because I did nothing inappropriate. So, I hereby formally waive any right of privacy in any recording or photograph of anything related to Jeffrey Epstein.

The absence of evidence is not, of course, conclusive evidence of absence.

But I don’t know at this time what is or is not on any tapes. So my willingness to now waive all privacy rights should be convincing that I have no fear of having been recorded doing anything improper, because I did nothing improper.

What about others who have been accused of improper sexual behavior?

These include, in addition to Prince Andrew, former Senate Majority leader George Mitchell; former U.S. Representative to the United Nations Bill Richardson; former Israel Prime Minister Ehud Barak; businessmen Leslie Wexner, Tom Pritzker and Glenn (and his wife Eva) Dubin; and Professors Marvin Minsky , and Steven . . . [name redacted by court.].

All of these men were accused by the same woman, Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

They have denied it.

Ms. Giuffre has a long record of making false allegations about prominent people including Al and Tipper Gore, as well as Bill Clinton who she has falsely said she saw hobnobbing with Jeffrey Epstein in the presence of young girls, on his notorious island (while they were serving as vice president and president).

U.S. Secret Service records conclusively prove that none of the three of them were ever on the island and the Gores didn’t even know Epstein. Giuffre clearly made up this story. Reportedly she earned $160,000 from a British tabloid for the "exclusive."

So the person who has the most to fear from video tapes that Maxwell may or may not have is — Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

If it's proven that she committed multiple acts of perjury in falsely accusing innocent men of having sex with her, then she should be indicted for perjury.

Recall that Ghislaine Maxwell has recently been indicted for committing perjury in a deposition in the very same case in which Guiffre was deposed.

If Maxwell can be investigated and prosecuted for committing perjury in a civil deposition, there is no reason why Giuffre should not be investigated to determine whether she committed perjury.

To be sure if there are, in fact videos of any men having sex with any underage persons, they too, should be investigated and prosecuted.

But, to the extent that these accusations are based solely on the word of Guiffre, they deserve no credit.

It's important to note that the recent indictment against Maxwell does not rely on the creditability of Giuffre, probably because the government is aware of her long history of fabricating stories about prominent people.

I know that the government is aware of this history, because I brought it to their attention when I voluntarily went to the office of the United States Attorney and the District Attorney.

Recorded evidence is certainly more reliable than the word of a someone who has a history of fabricating claims.

So in the interest of truth it would be well served if there were, in fact, videos of what took place — and didn’t take place — in Jeffrey Epstein’s homes and airplanes.

From the beginning of this entire matter, I have asked for all the evidence to be unsealed, all names unredacted and none of the evidence withheld or destroyed.

That is because I have nothing to hide.

My accuser, on the other hand, has tried to suppress evidence that would prove she is not telling the truth.

She has much to hide, so if I were she and her lawyers, I would pray that Ghislaine Maxwell does not have tapes of what went on in Epstein’s houses and airplanes.
