Is the air polluted with carbon monoxide? Do plastic bags save trees or pollute the seas, choking off water life there? Do people really believe nuclear energy, while less polluting, is better than fossil fuel, especially after 3-Mile Island and Chernobyl’s aftermaths? Is elimination of species protections a key to denuding the land and isolating man from the animal clan? Will eliminating cars save the air or compress human flesh into urban domains where no one will ultimately care or breath free?

Listening to the Democratic candidates rant on about what man is doing to the atmosphere is not only frightening but threatening to life as is known under capitalism. Bernie Sanders proposes to not only socialize benefits in what he should call social-equity redistributions but also proposes limiting the numbers born (remember the China one child policy?). Waiting for the Republican response holds a different kind of fear, for too many have their heads in the sand and hesitantly speak out on this issue.

Meanwhile there are some things which may render some relief.

Theoretically a more vegan diet will cut down on animal waste and environmentally unfriendly by-products which will hit farmers hard. Recycling efforts have come up short as more developing nations are not accepting of this nation’s waste, backing up plastics on ocean barges and into the sea. Research and development monies are needed to bring new technologies to bear on this crucial issue. Israel has thrived with desalinization plants and irrigation fields to make the deserts bloom and quench the people’s thirst. As stated in my book, "Common Sense Conservative Prescriptions Solutions for What Ails Us, Book I" — water is to our tomorrows what oil is to today.

Weather uncertainties are not just an act of G-d but may have an ample assist by man as breakfronts of trees are eliminated to overdevelop land for habitation. Wave buoys have been shown to generate energy safely so why isn’t it plugged in here? Why not stop expansion of malls further and provide incentive grants for those who redevelop these similarly abandoned areas. Why trample new ground while much viable abandoned land remains?

It makes no sense to continually rebuild with taxpayers' money those areas repeatedly hit by tornadoes, droughts, and other recurring natural disasters in a twenty year cycle. Require all buildings in flood planes or alleys of disasters have quake-enforced construction.

Watching the environment change is like using time-lapsed photography to capture glacial movements. It is slow, impactful but potentially devastating if not anticipated with some preparation. Start simple from experience with what can work and use real science, not political posturing, as a basis for future renewal of the earth.
